Convocation Etiquette

The Davis Honors Challenge Convocation is a formal event at which students have the opportunity to offer presentations of their seminar’s findings. Business attire is appropriate. DHC expects all seminar students to attend each convocation component. To avoid inappropriate interruptions and distractions, all cell phones must be turned off during each convocation component. Set-Up time is allocated on Convocation day to allow students to prepare in advance for their presentations. Students will complete all set-up activities by 1:15 pm to ensure on-time arrival for the Five-Minute Introductions, which begin promptly at 1:30 pm. During the Poster Session, students are expected to view posters and interact with poster representatives by asking thoughtful questions in order to learn more about the topics presented. Students are expected to attend their assigned partner seminar’s Fifteen-Minute Presentation and, having read that group’s Executive Summary, actively participate in the question-and-answer-period.
