Transfer Students

Beginning Fall 2008, transfer students entering UCD are encouraged to apply to DHC. Incoming transfer students are required to have a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.25. Admitted DHC transfer students must begin the program in the fall and follow the requirements of either the second- or third-year program, depending on their class standing. Prospective students are invited to attend a DHC information session.

Course Requirements

Second-year DHC students, take a total of 3 DHC courses over the course of the academic year. Honors Challenge sections provide the opportunity for direct contact with renowned faculty and are offered in conjunction with general education courses you would already be taking. Students also take one problem-oriented multi-disciplinary seminar that is limited in size so that participants receive substantial individual attention from faculty and actively participate in analyzing complex, contemporary problems. Second-Year Students have the option of taking two honors challenge sections or honors courses, and one honors seminar, OR one honors challenge section or honors course, one honors contract, and one honors seminar. in order to complete DHC requirements. DHC students must complete 2 DHC course requirements by the end of their second quarter to remain eligible for the DHC perks and benefits. In addition, they must complete all 3 DHC course requirements and earn a 3.25 UCD Cumulate GPA by the end of spring quarter in order to receive transcript notation and remain in the program. Third-Year Students must complete two honors contracts and a third-year honors seminar.
