Welcome to UC Davis and congratulations on your admission to Davis Honors Challenge! We are looking forward to getting to know you as you begin your first year in DHC.

Transitioning into University life can be challenging, and you probably have many questions about UC Davis and Davis Honors Challenge. The DHC web site offers a wealth of information that will be helpful to you in the next few months.

    "To Do" List for New DHC Students:

    1. DHC Living Learning Community in Kearney Hall

    As a First-Year DHC student, you have the opportunity to live in the DHC Living-Learning Community located in Kearney Hall in the Tercero South Student Housing Area. Spaces in this community will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, and requests must be submitted by Friday, July 11, 2008.

    3. DHC at Summer Orientation

    We hope you are planning to attend Summer Orientation, where you will have an opportunity to meet with a DHC counselor during a scheduled advising session. In addition to helping you select and sign up for your DHC course, the counselors will answer any questions you may have about the program. We look forward to meeting you at Summer Orientation and assisting you as you make decisions about your first year of college. Please Note: If you are not attending Summer Orientation, you should contact an Honors Counselor for advising assistance before your registration appointment.

    4. Frequently Asked Questions

    Information in the FAQ will answer some of the questions you probably have about DHC. The FAQ provides information on the first-year DHC requirements, Honors Challenge Sections and Honors Courses, and how you will sign up for a DHC class. It is important that you read through the information carefully.

    5. UC Davis E-mail

    DHC staff will contact you via your UC Davis email account. If you haven't already, set up your Campus Computing Account right away and obtain an official UC Davis email account.

    6. Service Learning

    The Service Learning Program engages small groups of DHC students in organized service projects that meet the needs of their community. SLP students develop their own projects with assistance from Service Learning Coordinators. You will be able to sign-up for SLP at your Summer Orientation Session.
