DHC Lab Policy

The DHC Lab

Reserved for DHC students only, the DHC lab is located in 594 Kerr Hall and currently houses 6 workstations equipped with Microsoft Office programs. Two of the computers contain MATLAB software. The lab is also equipped with a scanner and an automatic two-sided printer. Students are expected to print responsibly and avoid paper waste (See rules below).

Entry to the lab is available through a swipe card system that requires a current UCD registration card coded especially for active DHC participants.

While there may be an occasional class, the lab is primarily open access with operation hours from 7:30-5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. DHC faculty may make reservations for DHC classes/seminars by sending a request with the class name, date and time to dhc@ucdavis.edu.

Lab Printing Rules

• Print one copy only. Multiple copies should be taken to a copier. Public copiers are available at the Coffee House and Shields Library.

• Use of the lab printer should be for course-related work only.

• Do not waste paper. Only print what you need.

• Test printing is highly discouraged. Use Print Preview.

• Take only your own print outs.

• If you are printing from the Web, please print relevant pages only (e.g., select file, print, then print from pages 1-3, or 10-12, etc.) rather than the entire document.

• Do not jam the print queue with multiple print jobs.

• Use the lab responsibly and be respectful of others who wish to use the lab.

• Notify DHC staff of any problems.
