UC Davis Honors Challenge

Prospective DHC Students

Thank you for your interest in Davis Honors Challenge (DHC), an innovative, open-application, campuswide honors program for highly motivated students. DHC provides students with an enhanced education through special courses, closer contact with faculty, and dynamic interactions with academically-motivated peers. In addition to a mentor program and residential living-learning community, DHC offers students the opportunity to participate in an honors program for four years.

All incoming first-year students, on-campus first-year students and transfer students entering UCD this fall are invited to apply for admission to the program by submitting an on-line essay application.

Selection is based on evidence of:

enthusiasm, commitment and leadership
a desire to take an active role in one's education
a willingness to learn in new and different ways
an ability to function effectively in a group learning environment
an understanding of the goals of the program.

Information & Application for Incoming transfer students
Note: New Transfer students are encouraged to apply to DHC. Admitted DHC transfer students will follow either the second or third-year program depending on their class standing.
