Registration Information

In order to be considered active in the DHC program for 2008-2009, you will need to have signed up for a fall challenge section. If you have questions about your DHC status please contact Alana Penn at aupenn@ucdavis.edu to discuss your situation.

The following page contains information regarding sign ups, SISWEB registration, passwords, DHC program requirements, and other important information. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us, but please read this page carefully first to make sure your question is not answered here.

SISWEB First Pass Appointments
All active DHC students have priority registration. This means that your First-Pass Appointment will be scheduled for May 12th, the first day of Pass 1 Registration. You should check for your SISWEB appointment day/time as soon as possible and make sure that your appointment is scheduled for May 12th. If it is not, please notify us as soon as possible.

DHC Wait Lists
Wait Lists are available for DHC courses that are full. The sign-up system will allow you to sign up for one course (plus the the Service Learning Program) and be on the wait list for a second course. The system will automatically add you to the second course when a space becomes available, but it will also drop you from the original course. So, wait lists should be reserved for courses that are your absolute first choice.

Signing Up for a Second Course
Remember that our system will only allow you to sign up for one class at a time (plus the Service Learning Program) on the website. If you secure a spot in a DHC Challenge Section and then sign up on the DHC web site for another DHC challenge section, YOU WILL LOSE YOUR SPOT IN THE FIRST CHALLENGE SECTION YOU SIGNED UP FOR. Please be aware that DHC cannot correct any sign up mistakes should you attempt to sign up for a second course via the website.

Honors Counselors and Peer Advisors are available for advising should you wish to discuss your fall quarter schedule, check on your DHC progress thus far, or get assistance with the online sign-up system.

Challenge Section/course Registration
You will find a listing of all of the DHC Challenge Sections for Fall quarter here.Once you have signed up online for a course, you will receive an email with the CRN and further detailed information about the course. In addition to signing up on the DHC web site for a course, you must also officially register on SISWEB. In order to retain your space in a course, you are expected to officially register for your challenge section by the end of Pass Two.

Log-in & Password
Once the online sign ups are open, you can select your course or challenge section. You will be asked to log in with your official UC Davis Student ID Number (9 digits, no spaces or dashes). Your password is your 8-digit date of birth (2 digits for the month, 2 digits for the day, and 4 digits for the year - no spaces or dashes).

Password Example: Mary Smith's Student ID number is 987-987-987. Her birth date is March 3, 1984. To log in, Mary will enter her information like this...

Student ID: 987987987
Password: 03031984
