DHC
Advising at Summer Orientation
Every incoming UC Davis student
is expected to attend Summer Orientation. The Summer Orientation
Program is very important for DHC students, because you
will attend a special Davis Honors Challenge advising session
and sign up for your Fall quarter DHC course.
At the DHC Summer Orientation Session
you can expect the following:
- Explanation of DHC academic requirements
& how courses fit into your academic plan
- Overview of DHC benefits & perks
- Selection of your Fall quarter DHC course
- Assistance with your Fall quarter class
schedule
- Opportunity to meet DHC counselors and
other new DHC students
- Your many questions answered
When you arrive at Summer Orientation, you
will receive a schedule of sessions divided by day. All
DHC students will meet with DHC Counselors on the Third
Day of Summer Orientation at 8:00 am (sharp) in the Kearney
Hall First-Floor Study Lounge.
This information will be listed on your schedule.
The week before you are scheduled
to attend Summer Orientation, you will receive a reminder
email with detailed information about the DHC session. We
recommend that you review our web site before you come to
Summer Orientation, so that you are familiar with the DHC
course and program information.
Note: If you
are participating the STEP program, you will meet with DHC
Counselors on a different day. Please check back when it
gets closer to see when.
What if you can't attend
Summer Orientation?
If you are unable to attend Summer Orientation,
DHC staff are available to assist you! Please contact a
DHC Counselor before your scheduled registration
appointment to sign up for your DHC course and receive advising
assistance regarding your fall schedule. You will not be
able to sign up for DHC courses without receiving advising
from our staff.
